AK Steel announces June surcharges

A statement released by Ohio-based steel producer AK Steel indicates that the company will apply a raw material surcharge of $213 per ton on its flat rolled carbon steel products for shipments in June 2005. This amounts to a decrease of $5 per ton from the May surcharge of $218 per ton. Moreover, AK Steel will apply a raw material surcharge of $170 per ton on electrical steel products effective for shipments as of June 1, 2005.
