AK Steel announces April surcharges

A statement released by Ohio-based steel producer AK Steel indicates that the company will apply a raw material surcharge of $230 per ton on its flat rolled carbon steel products for shipments in April 2005. This amounts to an increase of $16 per ton from the March surcharge of $214 per ton. Moreover, the surcharge on electrical steel products shipped in April will be reduced by $45 per ton to $295 per ton.
