Mexican integrated steelmaker Altos Hornos de Mexico (AHMSA) said this week it received two clean industry certifications from the nation’s environmental protection agency, PROFEPA.

AHMSA said the certifications were awarded to its cold rolling mills No. 1 and No. 2. The company has thus far obtained 12 environment certifications from PROFEPA, including the two this week, which are valid for a two-year term, AHMSA said.

AHMSA said PROFEPA reviews the industry’s operations with the aim to confirm whether they are compliant with local environmental regulations.
