Mexican integrated steelmaker Altos Hornos de Mexico (AHMSA) will supply cold-rolled steel produced at its local mills in Monclova for South Korean steelmaker Posco, which will galvanize the product at its Mexican facilities, AHMSA said.

AHMSA said it will then sell the Posco-galvanized steel under the Mexican steelmaker’s own distribution network.

AHMSA labeled the venture as a “long-term” trade agreement. However, it didn’t provide volume nor value estimates for the partnership.

AHMSA operates two cold rolling mills in Mexico. AHMSA has a 5 million mt/year crude steel capacity.
