Mexican integrated steelmaker Altos Hornos de Mexico (AHMSA) has extended a laboratory certification, following an audit from local accreditation authority, Entidad Mexicana de Acreditacion (EMA).

A media report by Periodico El Tiempo said the EMA lab certification attested the quality of AHMSA’s physical and chemical probes under the ISO/IEC 17025 certification. As a result, AHMSA’s ISO/IEC 17025 certification was extended for a further four-year period.

AHMSA has maintained such certification for over 15 years, the media report noted. AHMSA’s steelmaking lab is responsible for controlling the company’s productive processes at its mills and subsidiaries. It also provides inspection and consulting for clients.
