AHMSA investing $1.5 million in heavy profiles equipment maintenance

Mexican integrated steelmaker Altos Hornos de Mexico (AHMSA) is investing MXN 29 million ($1.5 million) to repair heavy profiles equipment, according to local media Vanguardia. The project includes repair at a reheating furnace and its cooling tower as well as the change of a wear plate, rolling mill equipment, and engine maintenance.

AHMSA said the equipment to be repaired produces structural profiles to the civil construction, energy, among other industries. The company said the project will directly employ about 650 workers.

Several third-party companies will also be involved in the project, including VGH Proyectos y Servicios para la Industria, IMHP de México, Constructora Región Acero de Monclova, Bobinas Eléctricas Nacionales and Industrias Electrónicas Básicas.
