AHMSA buys new plate processing equipment

Altos Hornos de Mexico (AHMSA), the country’s largest integrated steel mill, has invested $660,033 in new equipment for its No. 1 mill, in the city of Monclova, in the state of Coahuila, according to media reports.

The company reportedly bought two machines for strapping and cutting rolled steel plates. The set of machines are located at company’s steckel mill loading area.

The company said the new equipment will help them improve operations, offering more possibilities when strapping and cutting rolled steel plates as well as cutting samples for clients.

AHMSA said the equipment are located in an area of 9,000 square meters and can weigh rolled steel plates of up to 30 mt.
