Brazilian utility company AES Tietê has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Anglo American Brazil to supply energy under a 15-year contract, AES Tietê said.

Anglo American Brazil owns the Minas-Rio iron ore project, a 529kmlong (328milelong) pellet feed-transporting slurry pipeline.  AES Tietê said it will start providing energy to Anglo American by 2022.

Anglo American will get energy from an AES Tietê wind farm project in Bahia state, Brazil.
