Acerinox posts improved results for Jan-Sept

Madrid, Spain-based stainless steel producer Acerinox posted the group's January-September 2011 financial results. According to the figures provided, the net profit of the company reached €103 million, increasing by 5.4 percent year-on-year.

In the first nine months of current year, Acerinox sales revenue reached €3.62 billion, with a growth of 8.2 percent compared to the same period last year, while EBITDA amounted to €315.70 million (or 8.7 percent of sales revenue) thanks to a 10.1 percent increase.

On the production side, in Jan-Sep 2011 Acerinox' output reached 1.5 million mt of crude steel (-4.5 percent), 1.3 million mt of hot rolled flat products (-2.57 percent), 949.252 mt of cold rolled flat products (-4.62 percent) and 149.241 mt of hot rolled long products (-6.01 percent).
