A. M. Castle & Co. secures new contract with USW

Illinois, US-based metal distributor A. M. Castle & Co. announced on October 19 that a new four-year contract covering 225 employees at three company locations in the United States has been ratified by members of the North American trade union United Steel Workers (USW). 

The new agreement was approved by a majority of union members in local votes taken on October 17, 2010.  The previous contract expired on September 30, 2010 and union members continued to work without a contract until ratification was achieved. The new contract will expire on September 30, 2014.
