11.15 million mt of old steel capacity to be eliminated in Yuxi by 2023

The authorities in Yuxi city in China's Yunnan Province have announced that the city's iron-making and steelmaking capacities amounted to 11.91 million mt and 13.65 million mt respectively by the end of 2017.

They further announced that by 2023 Yuxi city will eliminate 8.675 million mt of old iron-making capacity and 11.15 million mt of old steelmaking capacity, while 8.13 million mt of new iron-making capacity and 11.0 million mt of new steelmaking capacity will be built in the city during the 2018-23 within the scope of capacity replacement policy.
