Supported operating systems and browsers

SteelOrbis is compatible with Internet Explorer 5.5 and Internet Explorer 6.0 operating on Windows 98, Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
Full functionality can be obtained with Opera 7 and later versions on all operating systems.

Internet Explorer settings necessary for full functionality

To obtain full functionality of the SteelOrbis site, you should have javascript support on your browser. Internet Explorer and Opera come with Javascript support as they are installed on the system. If Javascript becomes disabled for some reason, the following will occur:
Homepage and/or News homepage can not be viewed in full
The top menu bar used for navigation within the site cannot be viewed
Most of the functionality will be lost when creating an auction
Javascript may become disabled for various reasons. There are two cases that are most frequently seen and the solutions are as follows:
When the Internet Explorer security level is set on High
Javascript support will be disabled if the security level of your Internet Explorer is set on High under the Tools menu. (See picture 1a and 1b) To overcome this problem, the Steelorbis site has to be added under the Trusted Sites (See picture 2). To do this;
1) Choose the Trusted Sites icon
2) Click Sites
3) Unclick the "Require server vertification (https:) for all sites in this zone" option
4) Type in http://www.steelorbis.com on the upper area and click the Add button
5) On the same area type in https://www.steelorbis.com and click the Add button
6) Click the OK button two times and complete the settings

Using Firewall software blocks Javascripts:
It has been detected that certain firewall software blocks Javascripts. If you are using an antivirus program and you are faced with slow download rates and/or problems such as viewing pages that don't load fully, you might have to shut down the antivirus program while surfing the SteelOrbis site.
For Norton Personal Firewall you can do this by right clicking on the blue-greenish icon on the lower right side of your desktop near the clock display. Left click the "Disable" item on the menu that comes up (See Picture 3) If you get a notification message window after clickling the "Disable" option, click "Yes".
Troubleshooting

Picture 3: Disabling Norton Firewall.

When you disable your firewall software, you might put your computer at risk. For this reason, do not visit sites that you don't trust until you enable your firewall software. After you complete your visit to the SteelOrbis site, activate your firewall software by clicking the "Enable" button on the Firewall icon as mentioned above.
For more information you might have to contact your antivirus software producer or distributor. If you conitnue to have problems, please send an e-mail to SteelOrbis Customer Services cs@steelorbis.com or call us at +90 216 386 40 88.
SteelOrbis continues to work on the compatibility of the site and the various firewall software. If you inform SteelOrbis Customer Services whether you have this problem or not, you can learn about the latest updates.
SSL settings
Some sections on the SteelOrbis site can only be viewed with SSL data security. When SSL security is active, the URL in the address bar of your explorer starts with https and its icon is displayed on the lower right side of the status bar.
If your browser's SSL setting is not properly set, you cannot view these pages properly. SSL settings for the Internet Explorer should be as follows:
On your Internet Explorer go to Tools and click Internet options. Go to the Advanced section.
Under the Advanced section, find the Security heading and make sure that "Use SSL 2.0" and "Use SSL 3.0" options are checked. (See Picture 4)
