Demand for welded pipes in the Polish market remains stagnant due to the summer holidays. However, some suppliers have tried to correct their offers upwards, expecting better market conditions in the coming period. Domestic prices for welded pipes from Polish producers have increased officially by around €10/mt ($12/mt) over the past month, while discounts are still possible for firm orders. At the same time, import offers of Italian welded pipes have decreased by €50-80/mt ($62-99/mt). Bulgarian suppliers have decreased their quotations by a maximum of €10/mt ($12/mt) over the past month, while offers of Czech origin material have increased by €10/mt ($12/mt). Although Polish buyers of welded pipes are still inactive amid the seasonal slowdown, market participants are optimistic about future market developments and hope to see a demand revival and further price growth in the coming month.

Current domestic quotations of locally produced 3/8"-6" water and gas ERW pipes of 2.6-4.5 mm wall thickness made to EN 10255 are at €730-750/mt ($905-930/mt) delivered, exclusive of 23 percent VAT. Offers of square and rectangular hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from S235 JRH grade hot rolled coil (HRC) according to EN 10219 are in the range of €600-610/mt ($744-756/mt) ex-works. ERW galvanized pipes made to EN 10240 are quoted for local customers at €930-940/mt ($1,153-1,166/mt) delivered.

Quotations of Italian black welded pipes of 2"-6" size with wall thickness of 2.0-4.0 mm as per EN 10219 made from S235JR grade HR coils to the Polish market are at the level of €570-650/mt ($707-806/mt) CPT on actual weight basis.

Offers of Bulgarian ERW pipes and hollow sections of 2-5 mm wall thickness made from S235JR grade HRC as per EN 10219 to Polish customers are standing at an average of €560-580/mt ($694-719/mt) CPT on theoretical weight basis.

Czech suppliers are offering hollow sections as per EN 10219 to the Polish market at about €590-600/mt ($732-744/mt) CPT.
