Welded pipe demand from Polish buyers is still slack amid the lack of new investment projects in the country, pushing suppliers to reduce their offers. Polish producers of welded pipes have cut their offers by around €10/mt ($13/mt) over the past two weeks, while quotations of ERW galvanized pipes have remained unchanged. Import offers of Italian welded pipes have moved down by a maximum of €30/mt ($38/mt) over the same period, Bulgarian suppliers have decreased their quotations by a maximum of €40/mt ($50/mt), while offers of Czech material have declined by €10-20/mt ($13-25/mt). Market players believe that welded pipe prices in Poland will continue to slide down up to September due to low purchasing activity with the approach of the Euro 2012 football tournament and the summer holiday season.
