The welded pipe market in Saudi Arabia has remained mostly stable over the past month, with demand weak ahead of Ramadan which this year starts at the end of June. Activity in the Saudi welded pipe market will likely remain slow in the coming month due to slack end-user demand, high stocks and slow construction activity amid a workforce shortage and the reduced number of working hours during Ramadan.
Current offers from Saudi Arabia's commercial producers for 2"-8" ERW pipes grade A as per ASTM A53 are at $840-870/mt delivered (here and below on theoretical weight basis). Quality Saudi Arabian manufacturers approved by state-owned national oil company Saudi Aramco are offering 6"-10" welded steel pipes grade B as per API 5L with plain ends at around $930-950/mt ex-works.
Export quotations of 6"-10" welded steel pipes grade B made to API 5L from quality producers are at $970-1,000/mt FOB. Commercial manufacturers are offering 2"-8" welded pipes grade A as per ASTM A53 to the external market at around $870-890/mt FOB.
In the import segment, import offers of Chinese welded pipes of 2"-6" grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L are being given to the local Saudi market at around $650-680/mt CFR, unchanged compared to the levels of one month ago.
