Current spot market prices for Grade A ERW BPE continues to remain stable, at $46-$48 cwt. ($1014-$1058/mt or $920-$960/nt), ex-mill, and sources close to SteelOrbis believe that in the absence of a “major shakeup” in the market place, prices will continue to maintain their sideways trend.

Current prices reflect a slight uptrend compare to price points in early-to-mid September 2016, when SteeOrbis reported the price range for US domestic Grade A ERW BPE standard pipe at $45.00 cwt. ($992/mt or $900/nt), ex-Midwest mill,

In terms of import arrivals, the US Department of Commerce reports that for the month of August, the US imported 88,600 mt (license data) of standard pipe from global sources. In contrast, the US imported 117,006 mt (census data) in July.
