US import line pipe prices trend mostly stable

Although some sources close to SteelOrbis continue to report that offer prices for Korean API X-52 line pipe in the US domestic market continue to trend in at $42.50-$44.00 cwt. ($937-$970/mt or $850-$880/nt), DDP loaded truck in US Gulf coast ports; other sources report they have had “no problems” booking up to $1.00 cwt. ($22/mt or $20/nt) below that range, based on volume.
 
SteelOrbis sources are also reporting a spread between the most commonly heard transaction range for Mexican API X-52 line pipe in the US domestic market.
 
“We're seeing X52 pricing out of Mexico at close to $45.00 cwt. ($992/mt or $900/nt), FOB Houston,” a source reported. A second source, however, said his bookings have been “about $1.00 cwt. higher.”
