Prices for import API X-42 electric resistance weld (ERW) line pipe from Vietnam and Taiwan have dipped by approximately $0.50 cwt. ($11/mt or $10/nt) in the past week, although trader sources have said that deals on larger orders are rampantly available. The most commonly heard transaction range for API X-42 ERW line pipe from Taiwan and Vietnam is now at $38.00-$39.00 cwt. ($838-$860/mt or $760-$780/nt), DDP loaded truck in US Gulf coast ports.  Korean mills are also still offering line pipe to the US in the range of $40.50-$41.50 ($892-$915/mt or $810-$830/nt), but sources have confirmed that this price range is also quite flexible.

Meanwhile, the US domestic line pipe market has held its course in the past seven days and continues to deal with issues relating to overcapacity and short lead times.  Ex-mill spot prices are still in the approximate range of $54.00-$55.00 cwt. ($1,191-$1,212/mt or $1,080-$1,100/nt) ex-Midwest mill, but deals are readily available for anyone who is looking to book significant tons.
