Both the
US domestic and import API X-42 electric resistance weld (ERW) line pipe markets have held steady since our last report a week ago, as many in the
US continue to await new price quotes from Korean and Taiwanese producers. “Korean offers haven’t really moved,” according to one Texas-based trader source, who notes that while the most recently quoted range from first-tier mills was seen in the approximate range of $42.00-$42.50 cwt. ($926-$937/mt or $840-$850/nt), DDP loaded truck in
US Gulf coast ports, “there is still quite a bit of wiggle room on that range if you’re looking to book from second or third tier mills.” Newly revised, higher-priced offers, however, are still expected to emerge in the near future.
In terms of other pricing, the most recently seen quotes from Indian and Brazilian mills have also remained lateral, with futures offers from Indian producers holding in the approximate range of $41.50-$42.50 cwt. ($915-$937/mt or $830-$850/nt) DDP loaded truck
US Gulf coast ports, while Brazilian offers continue to trend about $1.00 cwt ($22/mt or $20/nt) higher.
US domestic spot prices for API X-42 ERW line pipe have also remained sideways, at $51.00-$52.00 cwt. ($1,124-$1,146/mt or $1,020-$1,040/nt) ex-Midwest mill, although deals may be available to those looking to book larger tonnages.
