Prices for seamless pipes in Spain from local and foreign suppliers have moved in different directions over the past month. While Spanish producers of seamless pipes are not giving any sign that they will decrease prices and have even increased domestic prices by €70/mt over the past month, prices offered from Ukraine have decreased by €100-105/mt over the same period. Import prices for Chinese seamless pipes have moved up by €20/mt, while offers of Italian material have climbed up by €70/mt over the analyzed period. There are still a lot of uncertainties surrounding the further development of the seamless pipe market in Spain due to bank failures. However, the low level of stocks still gives hope that a new round of purchases could revive the entire market and cause a general price increase. The rumored cancellation Chinese export tax rebate, if implemented, would definitely help to improve the market sentiment.

Current domestic prices for 2"-6" hot-formed seamless pipes grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L are at around €1,040-1,060/mt ex-works.

Prices for Chinese seamless pipes, 2"-6" grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L, are at about €800-860/mt C&F, exclusive of antidumping duties (in the range of 17.7-39.2 percent depending on the producer).

Offers of Ukrainian seamless pipes, 2"-14" grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L, are at €830-860/mt DDU. These prices are exclusive of 25.1 percent antidumping duty.

Quotations of Italian seamless pipes, 2"-6" grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L, to Spain are at €1,100-1,120/mt CPT.
