Trading activity in the Bulgarian welded pipe market remains slow amid weak demand from end-users. Bulgarian welded pipe producers have not revised their domestic prices over the past two weeks despite slow trading activity, while export quotations have declined by a maximum of €10/mt (up $8-10/mt) against the backdrop of weak demand and an uncertain outlook. The future prospects for the Bulgarian welded pipe market do not look very promising. The construction industry will remain in a depressed condition in Bulgaria and consuming industries in Europe, the main export outlet, will see just a limited growth.
Current offers of locally produced welded pipes and hollow sections of 2-5 mm wall thickness made from S235JR grade hot rolled coil (HRC) according to EN 10219 are being given to the Bulgarian domestic market at around BGN 930-950/mt ($523-534/mt) ex-works, exclusive of 20 percent VAT and on theoretical weight basis.
Export quotations of Bulgarian ERW pipes and hollow sections of 2-5 mm wall thickness made from S235JR grade HRC as per EN 10219 are at levels of €460-490/mt ($506-539/mt) ex-works on theoretical weight basis. Export quotations of Bulgarian water and gas pipes according to EN 10255 are at €480-520/mt ($528-572/mt) ex-works.
