Buying activity in the Bulgarian welded pipe market has continued to be quiet in line with the traditional slowdown of demand during the summer holiday season. Bulgarian welded pipes are currently being offered to the domestic market at BGN 10/mt ($9-10/mt) cheaper than two weeks ago, while export quotations of Bulgarian welded pipes have remained largely unchanged over the past two weeks as deals have been scarce. However, welded pipe prices in Bulgaria are likely to recover in September on the back of an anticipated post-holiday restocking boost.

Current offers of locally produced welded pipes and hollow sections of 2-5 mm wall thickness made from S235JR grade hot rolled coil (HRC) according to EN 10219 are being given to the Bulgarian domestic market at around BGN 970-990/mt ($662-675/mt) ex-works, exclusive of 20 percent VAT and on theoretical weight basis.

Export quotations of Bulgarian ERW pipes and hollow sections of 2-5 mm wall thickness made from S235JR grade HRC as per EN 10219 are at levels of €460-500/mt ($614-667/mt) ex-works on theoretical weight basis. Export quotations of Bulgarian water and gas pipes according to EN 10255 are at €480-520/mt ($640-694/mt) ex-works.
