The Spanish seamless pipe market has continued to weaken due to the economic slowdown in the country which prevents consuming industries from recovering, slack foreign demand and falling raw material prices. Domestic and export quotations of Spanish seamless pipes have lost around €20-30/mt ($26-39/mt) over the past month.
Prices offered from China have decreased by €40-50/mt ($52-65/mt) over the past month, while quotations of Ukrainian material have declined by a maximum of €20/mt ($26/mt). Import offers of Italian seamless pipes have moved down by €50/mt ($65/mt) over the period under review.
Meanwhile, Spanish buyers prefer to adopt a wait-and-see approach until the situation in the market becomes clearer. However, the Spanish seamless pipe market is expected to remain quiet in the coming period amid slack demand in the global market.
