The seamless pipe market in Germany is gradually starting to show signs of a recovery after the end of summer holidays. However, German producers are in no hurry to increase their offers as they are still seeing sluggish buying activity in the domestic market. Export and domestic prices of German seamless pipes have generally remained unchanged over the past month, though in some cases quotations are €10-20/mt ($13-26/mt) lower compared to the month-ago levels. During the period under review, quotations of Romanian seamless pipes to the German market have decreased by a maximum of €20/mt ($26/mt), while Italian suppliers have left their offers for Germany unchanged. Import prices of Chinese material have decreased by €20/mt ($26/mt) over the given period. Market players believe German seamless pipe suppliers may try to raise their offers in the coming period due to higher raw material costs and improving demand.
