The Saudi Arabian seamless pipe market has remained quiet over the past month because of a slowdown in business activity during Ramadan and the summer season. During the past month, offers of Chinese seamless pipes to Saudi Arabia have declined by about $20-30/mt, while Ukrainian suppliers have cut their offers for Saudi buyers by $10-20/mt over the same period. Import quotations of South African seamless pipes have remained stable over the past month, while offers of Japanese material have moved down by $25/mt. However, the general sentiment for the seamless pipe market in Saudi Arabia is optimistic enough because of the large potential of the market. It is expected that growth in the construction and infrastructure sectors will boost seamless pipe demand in the Kingdom.

Most offers of Chinese seamless pipes of 2"-6" grade B made to ASTM are being given to the Saudi Arabian market at $700-730/mt CFR, while 7" casing of J55 grade as per API 5CT is being offered at $830-850/mt CFR.

Quotations of Ukrainian seamless pipes (Interpipe) of 2"-6" grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L to Saudi Arabia are at $1,000-1,030/mt CFR, while 8"-10" pipes are offered at around $1,020-1,050/mt CFR.

South African seamless pipes (ArcelorMittal), 2"-6" grade B made to ASTM A106, are quoted at around $980-1,000/mt CFR Saudi Arabia.

Quotations from Japan (NSSMC) for seamless pipes of 2"-6" grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L are at about $1,400-1,430/mt CFR Saudi Arabia.
