Conditions are negative in the Romanian market for seamless pipes. Local buyers purchase seamless pipes just occasionally because of sluggish demand in consuming industries. Romanian seamless pipe suppliers continue to focus on the export markets, though demand from foreign buyers is weakening due to seasonal factors. However, quotations of Romanian seamless pipes have remained unchanged at the levels of one month ago; though in some cases decreases of €10-20/mt ($13-25/mt) have been seen. Import quotations of seamless pipes from the Czech Republic have also remained unchanged over the past month. Demand for seamless pipes in the Romanian market is not expected to improve in the short term amid slack demand from end-users, and prices may go down in the near term.

Romanian domestic quotations of 3"-10" seamless pipes made to ASTM or EN are at about €1,000-1,020/mt ($1,260-1,285/mt) delivered, excluding 24 percent VAT.

Export offers of 3"-10" seamless pipes of grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L are being given by ArcelorMittal Roman to the external markets at around €990-1,000/mt ($1,247-1,260/mt) FCA, 12"-16" seamless pipes are quoted at €1,025-1,125/mt ($1,292-1,418/mt) FCA, while 18"-20" pipes are at about €1,300/mt ($1,638/mt) FCA.

Import offers of 3"-10" seamless pipes from the Czech Republic (ArcelorMittal) of grade B as per ASTM A106 are being given to the Romanian market at €1,050/mt ($1,323/mt) CPT.
