The Romanian seamless pipe market is still showing no signs of improvement. Over the past month, export prices for seamless pipes have fallen by €10-40/mt, while domestic prices have dropped by €10-20/mt due to the ongoing weakness of demand. With international prices moving upwards in September and into the fourth quarter, Romanian prices are expected to be protected from a further slump. In the coming month, prices are likely to be stable, although they may rise from the fourth quarter due to increasing raw material quotations in the region.

Current local prices for September production seamless pipes of 2"-6" size of grade B as per ASTM A106 or EN from Romanian producers are at about €860-890/mt ex-works (here and below on a theoretical weight basis and excluding 24 percent VAT).

Export offers of 3"-6" seamless pipes of grade B made to ASTM A106 or EN are being given by ArcelorMittal Roman to the external markets at around €840-880/mt FCA. Material with 16" diameter of grade B made to ASTM A106 from this producer is quoted to foreign customers at about €1,070-1,100/mt FCA.
