The Turkish seamless pipe market has stayed more or less at the same levels as a month ago, with demand on the slow side. Offer prices of Chinese and Ukrainian seamless pipes have remained at previous levels, while Russian producers have lowered their quotations for the Turkish market by $20-30/mt over the past month. Market insiders do not foresee any surge of demand at least until the autumn. The seamless pipe price trend is expected to fluctuate in the near future as it adapts to the demand level in the Turkish market. Round billet prices are expected to go down due to the global downtrends in prices of iron ore and scrap, which may lead to a negative correction of seamless pipe prices from the CIS.
Current quotations for Chinese seamless pipes 2"-8" grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L are in the range of $970-1,010/mt C&F Turkey's Marmara Sea ports, while 10"-16" pipes are at $1,000-1,050/mt C&F.
July production pipes from Ukrainian producer Interpipe with diameter of 42-377 mm made of steel grade 10, 20 according to GOST 8731/8732 are being offered to the Turkish market at about $900-920/mt C&F.
Duferco is offering August-September production Ukrainian seamless pipes 70-168 mm diameter of 10, 20 steel grades according to GOST 8731/8732 at around $975-980/mt C&F.
Russian producer Uraltrubostal (Pervouralsky Novotrubny Works) was offering August production 3"-8" seamless hot-formed pipes of grade B made to ASTM 106 at about $1,000-1,010/mt C&F, but currently has stopped giving offers because of its intention to reduce export quotations.
Quotations of Russian seamless pipes from TMK (Seversky PP) with diameter 219-355 mm made to GOST 8731/8732 are being given to the Turkish market at about $1,020-1,030/mt C&F. Seamless hot-formed pipes with diameter 70-168 mm, 10, 20 steel grade, made to GOST from Sinarsky PP are quoted for the Turkish market at $1,030-1,050/mt C&F. Import prices for seamless pipes of Volzhsky PP with diameter 42-219 mm made of steel grade 10, 20 according to GOST 8731/8732 are at $940-950/mt C&F.
