Romanian seamless pipes are still facing weak demand in the domestic market and in most export destinations. Local buyers are not interested in purchases due to almost non-existent end-user demand amid the gloomy financial and economic situation in the region. At the same time, overseas buyers have continued their wait-and-see attitude and only purchase reluctantly, concluding deals for small tonnages. As a result, quotations of Romanian seamless pipes have stayed largely unchanged over the past month. Market sources expect prices to stay at these levels in the short-term period as the outlook for the future market is too uncertain.
Romanian domestic quotations of 3"-10" seamless pipes made to ASTM or EN are at about €900-920/mt ($1,179-1,205/mt) delivered, excluding 24 percent VAT.
Export offers of 3"-10" seamless pipes of grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L are being given by ArcelorMittal Roman to the external markets at around €910-930/mt ($1,192-1,218/mt) FCA, 12"-14" seamless pipes are being offered at $940-970/mt ($1,231-1,271/mt) FCA, 16" seamless pipes are quoted at €1,090-1,100/mt ($1,428-1,441/mt) FCA, while 18"-20" pipes are at about €1,370-1,380/mt ($1,795-1,808/mt) FCA, all for July-August production.
SteelOrbis has also heard that offers of 406.5 mm seamless pipes of P235TR1 grade made to EN10216-1 are at €1,040-1,120/mt ($1,362-1,467/mt) FCA.
Import offers of 3"-10" seamless pipes from the Czech Republic (ArcelorMittal) of grade B as per ASTM A106 are being given to the Romanian market at €940-960/mt ($1,231-1,258/mt) CPT.
