The Romanian market for seamless pipes has remained sluggish with weak domestic and export demand ahead of the seasonally slow summer period. However, Romanian seamless pipe prices have been reported as following a stable trend over the past month. Market players believe seamless pipe prices in Romania will remain unchanged over the summer, though the economic outlook is negative for the region due to problems caused by Europe's debt crisis.

Romanian domestic quotations of 3"-10" seamless pipes made to ASTM or EN are at about €950-1,000/mt ($1,195-1,257/mt) delivered, excluding 24 percent VAT.

Export offers of 3"-10" seamless pipes of grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L are being given by ArcelorMittal Roman to the external markets at around €990-1,000/mt ($1,245-1,257/mt) FCA, 12"-16" seamless pipes are quoted at €1,025-1,125/mt ($1,288-1,414/mt) FCA, while 18"-20" pipes are at about €1,300/mt ($1,635/mt) FCA.

Import offers of 3"-10" seamless pipes from the Czech Republic (ArcelorMittal) of grade B as per ASTM A106 are being given to the Romanian market at €1,030-1,050/mt ($1,295-1,320/mt) CPT.
