Romanian seamless pipe prices hold steady amid weak demand

The Romanian seamless pipe market is witnessing low demand from local customers ahead of the traditional holiday season.  Traders prefer to buy minimal quantities in order to avoid building up excess inventory. Meanwhile, Romanian producers are keeping domestic quotations of seamless pipes at the levels of one month ago. The expectation is that buyer activity in Romania will not revive before September due to the approach of the summer holidays in Europe, and so domestic seamless pipe prices are unlikely to change.
 
Boiler tubes of 2"-6" size made to EN 10297 and EN 10216 are offered to local customers by Romanian producer TMK Artrom at around €1,020-1,040/mt ex-works (excluding 24 percent VAT), while offers of 3"-10" boiler tubes are being given by ArcelorMittal Roman to the domestic market at €1,060/mt ex-works for July-August production.
 
Export offers of 3"-10" Sch 40 and Sch 80 seamless pipes of grade B made to ASTM A106 are being given by ArcelorMittal Roman to the external markets at around €1,060/mt FCA, 12"-14" pipes are at €1,085-1,110/mt FCA, while 16" pipes are at €1,260/mt FCA and 18"-20" seamless pipes are quoted at €1,410/mt FCA.
 
Import offers of 3"-10" seamless pipes from the Czech Republic (ArcelorMittal) as per EN 10297 are being given to the Romanian market at €1,060/mt CPT.
