Turkish producers of welded pipes have continued to cut their offer prices amid lower hot rolled coil quotations and slower demand from both local and foreign buyers. Domestic and export quotations of Turkish welded pipes have decreased by around $10-20/mt over the past two weeks. However, foreign demand for Turkish welded pipes is still weak amid more attractive offers from alternative suppliers, while domestic demand has been recovering slowly due to low construction activity. Market players believe prices for Turkish welded pipes may continue to slide down in the coming period as buyers insist on further price reduction, and also considering that any buying boom is unlikely to happen soon.
