A decline in import and domestic flats prices along with consistently low demand from local and foreign customers have caused another decrease in welded pipe prices in Turkey. Over the past two weeks, domestic and export quotations of welded pipes in Turkey have declined by $20-40/mt. For the coming weeks, no improvement in demand is foreseen because of the holiday season. The negative market conditions are based on the weakness of the global welded pipe market, which is unlikely to recover before the end of the summer.

Current export prices of Turkish ERW pipes and hollow sections of 2-6 mm wall thickness made from HRC according to EN 10219 or ASTM A500 are at the level of $640-650/mt FOB. Export offers of ERW pipes and hollow sections of 1.5 mm wall thickness made from HRC are at around $710-730/mt FOB, while the same products made from CRC are at $730-750/mt FOB. Water and gas ERW pipes of 2.0-4.5 mm wall thickness made to EN 10255 from S235 grade HR products are being offered for export at about $660-670/mt FOB.

Domestic quotations of ERW pipes and hollow sections of 2-6 mm wall thickness made from HRC are at the level of $570-630/mt ex-works, while ERW pipes and hollow sections of 1.5 mm wall thickness made from CRC are at the range of $630-700/mt ex-works. Water and gas ERW pipes of 2.0-4.5 mm wall thickness made to EN 10255/DIN 2440 from S235 grade HR products are being offered to the domestic market at $600-650/mt ex-works.

SteelOrbis has learned that domestic producer Yucel Boru is providing discounts of 27 percent on their official price list for local customers. As a result, this producer's range of domestic quotations for hollow sections made to EN 10219 are at around $600-650/mt ex-works, while ERW pipes with 2-4 mm wall thickness made to EN 10305-3/DIN 2394 are offered to local customers at $640-690/mt ex-works.
