Domestic offer prices of locally produced seamless pipes in Iran have risen by around $50/mt over the past month as hard currencies rose in value against the Iranian rial in April and as the rate of inflation in Iran has been rising steadily. However, seamless pipe prices have halted their rising trend recently after several weeks of steady increases. Import offers of seamless pipes from China have declined by $10-30/mt, while offers of Ukrainian material have increased by around $30/mt. Quotations of Russian seamless pipes have remained unchanged over the past month. Market insiders think local mills in Iran may offer lower prices in the short run following the downward trend in the Iranian steel market, in order to get deals. Most market players prefer to observe the market conditions more carefully amid the lack of demand and low confidence in the market.
Current domestic prices for
ranian seamless pipes, 2"-4" grade B made to API 5L, are in the range of $1,020-1,050/mt ex-works, while 2"-4" seamless pipes grade Х52 made to API 5L are offered to the domestic market at on average $1,120-1,150/mt ex-works.
Import offers of Chinese seamless pipes, 2"-6" grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L, are being given to the local Iranian market at $720-770/mt CFR Bandar Abbas.
Quotations of Ukrainian seamless pipes of 2"-6" size grade B as per ASTM A106 have been at about $1,020-1,050/mt CFR for May production.
Russian pipes of 2"-6" grade B as per ASTM A106 or GOST are being offered to northern Iranian ports at $1,000-1,050/mt CFR.
