Activity in the Polish welded pipe market has remained slow over the past month ahead of the holiday period in the EU. Domestic welded pipe quotations in Poland have moved down by around €5-10/mt ($7-14/mt) during the past month, while quotations of Italian and Bulgarian material for the Polish market have also decreased over the same period, by €20-30/mt ($27-40/mt). Market players believe conditions in the market are unlikely to improve in August considering the low buying activity during the holiday season. However, welded pipe suppliers in Poland may try to raise their prices in September at the earliest due to positive forecasts regarding demand from consuming industries.
