There has been some improvement in prices in Poland's welded pipe market over the past month amid a gradual recovery of demand from consuming industries in the country. Domestic welded pipe quotations in Poland have gone up by around €5-10/mt over the past month, but prices in US dollar terms have declined by $11-16/mt due to currency fluctuations. During the given period, quotations of Italian material for the Polish market have increased by €10/mt, while Bulgarian suppliers have raised their offers for Polish customers by €40-50/mt (up $39-60/mt). Forecasts regarding welded pipe demand in Poland for the coming period are generally positive driven by the recovery of activity in consuming industries following large investments from the EU budget. Poland will receive about €105.8 billion from the EU in 2014-2020, including €72.9 billion within the framework of the EU Cohesion Policy. However, the recovery in the Polish welded pipe market is unlikely to be very rapid one.
Current domestic quotations of locally produced 3/8"-6" water and gas ERW pipes of 2.6-4.5 mm wall thickness made to EN 10255 are at €605-645/mt ($824-879/mt) delivered, exclusive of 23 percent VAT. Offers of square and rectangular hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from S235 JRH grade hot rolled coil (HRC) according to EN 10219 are in the range of €500-520/mt ($681-708/mt) ex-works. ERW galvanized pipes made to EN 10240 are quoted for local customers at €805-825/mt ($1,097-1,124/mt) delivered.
Quotations of Italian black welded pipes of 2"-6" size with wall thickness of 2.0-4.0 mm as per EN 10219 made from S235JR grade HRC to the Polish market are at levels of €580-620/mt ($790-845/mt) CPT on actual weight basis.
Offers of Bulgarian ERW pipes and hollow sections of 2-5 mm wall thickness made from S235JR grade HRC as per EN 10219 to Polish customers are standing at an average of €580-600/mt ($790-817/mt) CPT on theoretical weight basis.
