Mexican domestic welded steel pipes closed at US$970/mt ex-mill, representing a US$20/mt drop during last two weeks. Meanwhile, structural steel tubing prices fell US$10/mt during the same time period to reach US$885/mt ex-mill.

While financial analysts believe that the National Infrastructure Plan will result in firms getting major projects in the next six years, this year will not show much improvement in construction.  However, other sources believe that the situation will improve with demand later this year, after government spending resumes along with the US$1.6 billion infrastructure program.
