Trading activity in the Polish welded pipe market has been relatively scarce over the past month due to seasonally low demand from consuming sectors. Domestic prices for welded pipes in Poland have declined by €35-40/mt ($39-44/mt) over the past month, while prices on US dollar basis have decreased by $50-55/mt in the same period due to the fluctuation of the exchange rate. Import offers of Italian welded pipes have decreased by a maximum of €5/mt ($5.5/mt) over the period under review, while Bulgarian suppliers have cut their quotations by €10-15/mt ($11-17/mt) in the same period. Market participants do not foresee any significant improvement in demand fundamentals in the short run as buying activity may weaken further in the summer period.
