Demand in the local Turkish welded pipe market has decreased over the past week and is now at weak levels. Market sources state that prices in the local Turkish welded pipe market, which had increased by $35/mt on average during the previous two weeks amid the uptrend of prices of hot rolled coil (HRC), have remained stable this week. While market sources report that Turkish buyers are making welded pipe bookings from the domestic market only to meet their immediate needs, Turkish producers are continuing to offer discounts of $10-15/mt depending on buyers and tonnages.
Over the past week, most offers of Turkish ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from hot rolled coil (HRC) of S235 grade as per EN 10219 to the domestic market have remained stable at $500-530/mt ex-works on actual weight basis.
Meanwhile, Turkish producers’ offers for ERW pipes and hollow sections made from HRC of steel grade S235 JRH as per EN 10219 to foreign customers are still at around $490-520/mt FOB on theoretical weight basis, remaining stable week on week against a backdrop of low demand.
