According to market sources, following the general election in Turkey on November 1, demand and transaction activity have increased in the local Turkish welded pipe market and are lively against the backdrop of improved construction and infrastructure activities. Turkish welded pipe suppliers state that tightness of supply is observed for some sizes and lengths amid rising demand. Turkish suppliers are focusing on their local market due to lively demand, and are unwilling to conclude deals in foreign markets. However, some Turkish sellers have concluded deals for just small tonnages of welded pipe to Greece and Israel.

Most offers of Turkish ERW pipes and hollow sections with 2-4 mm wall thickness made from hot rolled coil (HRC) of S235 grade as per EN 10219 to the domestic market are at about $470-500/mt ex-works on actual weight basis, increasing by $40/mt on average over the past two weeks.

Meanwhile, Turkish producers are offering ERW pipes and hollow sections made from HRC of steel grade S235 JRH as per EN 10219 to foreign customers are at around $415-425/mt FOB, increasing by $50/mt as compared to the price levels recorded two weeks ago.
