The situation in the Italian welded
pipe market has not changed much over the past month. Demand from domestic buyers has remained extremely low due to the holiday season and is not expected to recover before September. Domestic and export quotations of Italian welded pipes have remained unchanged. On the other hand, import offers of Turkish welded pipes to the Italian market have increased by €10-20/mt ($13-26/mt) during the period under review, mainly due to currency fluctuations, while prices of Bulgarian material have moved down by €30-40/mt ($40-53/mt) during the same period. The forecasted higher raw material costs in
Italy and also the anticipated improvement in end-user demand for welded pipes after the summer period are both expected to influence welded
pipe quotations in the coming period.
