The Spanish seamless pipe market has not witnessed any substantial changes over the past month. Domestic and export quotations of Spanish seamless pipes have remained at previous levels. At the same time, import offers of seamless pipes from China have decreased by €30-50/mt ($41-69/mt) over the same period. Import quotations of seamless pipes from Ukraine have moved up by €30/mt ($41/mt) over the period under review, while offers of Italian materials have remained stable.

The negative mood in the seamless pipe market in Spain is gradually fading as economic conditions stabilize and as short-term visibility in the domestic market improves. Market players expect end-user demand for seamless pipes from key user sectors such as construction, automotive and the metal goods industry should improve in Europe on a par with the expected rise in activity in these sectors.

Current Spanish domestic prices for 2"-4" hot-formed seamless pipes, grade B made to ASTM A106, are at around €920-970/mt ($1,272-1,341/mt) ex-works.

Current export prices of Spanish seamless pipes, 2"-4" grade B according to ASTM A106, are varying at around €950-1,000/mt ($1,313-1,382/mt) FOB.

Prices for Chinese seamless pipes, 2"-6" grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L, are at about €620-650/mt ($857-898/mt) CFR Spain, exclusive of antidumping duties (in the range of 17.7-39.2 percent depending on the producer).

Offers of Ukrainian seamless pipes, 2"-6" grade B according to API 5L, are being given to Spain at €780-790/mt ($1,078-1,092/mt) CPT. Prices are shown exclusive of 13.8 percent antidumping duty.

Quotations of Italian seamless pipes, 8"-10" grade B made to ASTM A106, to Spain are at €1,130-1,150/mt ($1,562-1,589/mt) CPT.
