Seamless pipe demand in Iran has remained weak amid the seasonal slowdown in the market. However, local producers' domestic offers of Iranian seamless pipes have remained stable over the past month, while Iranian traders have increased their offers by $10-35/mt over the same period amid low inventory levels. Ukrainian suppliers have reduced their offer prices by $40-50/mt in the same period. Import prices of Chinese seamless pipes have remained at their levels of four weeks ago. Meanwhile, the number of transactions in the market has been very low, while traders remain cautious and sentiment as regards the future market is not optimistic given the lack of liquidity and low investments.
Current domestic prices for Iranian seamless pipes, 2"-4" grade B made to API 5L, are in the range of $850-880/mt ex-works.
Stockists' quotations of Iranian 1"-3" seamless pipes, grade B made to API 5L, are in the range of $845-890/mt ex-warehouse, compared to $835-855/mt ex-warehouse one month ago.
Import offers of Chinese seamless pipes, 2"-6", grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L, are being given to the local Iranian market at $570-600/mt CFR Bandar Abbas on theoretical weight basis.
