Prices for Indian welded pipes are rising amid higher quotations of locally produced and import flat products. Over the past two weeks domestic quotations of Indian ERW black pipes have climbed by INR 1,000/mt ($40/mt, currency fluctuations taken into account), while export prices have risen by $20-50/mt during the same period. The upward trend is likely to persist in the coming period; however, the growth pace may slow down because, while quotations of feedstock continue to go up, demand for welded pipes remains at the same level.

Domestic quotations of 1"-6" black ERW pipes made to BS 1387 (light series) are at levels of INR 40,000-41,000/mt ($895-920/mt) ex-works, excluding tax. Current domestic prices of 1"-6" galvanized ERW pipes made to BS 1387 (light series) are in the range of INR 47,000-48,000/mt ($1,050-1,075/mt) ex-works.

Export quotations of 1"-6" black ERW pipes made to BS 1387 (light series) from Indian producers are at $870-900/mt FOB. Export prices of Indian galvanized ERW pipes of 1"-6" size made to BS 1387 are at around $1,000-1,020/mt FOB.
