Although it’s been a relatively uninteresting week for US domestic and import API-X42 electric resistance weld (ERW) line pipe, with order activity and pricing remaining on par with last week, sources tell SteelOrbis that Taiwanese producers are pushing for a price increase similar to the $1.25 cwt. ($28/mt or $25/nt) above current offers that Koreans are asking for in the US import market. Currently, the most commonly reported futures range from Korean mills is still at approximately $39.50-$40.50 cwt. ($871-$893/mt or $790-$810/nt) DDP loaded truck US Gulf coast ports, whereas futures offers from Indian, Vietnamese and Taiwanese mills are still at $38.50-$39.50 cwt. ($849-$871/mt or $770-$790/nt) DDP loaded truck US Gulf coast ports.

Meanwhile, US domestic spot prices are also unmoved, still at approximately $51.00-$52.00 cwt. ($1,124-$1,146/mt or $1,020-$1,040/nt) ex-Midwest mill, although buyers say that anyone who is interested in booking a hefty order is still able to negotiate a better price.
