The general situation in the Bulgarian welded pipe market has not seen any dramatic change during the last two weeks. Demand from local and other European customers was rather low ahead of the Easter holidays. Domestic and export quotations have remained unchanged over the past two weeks. Bulgarian welded pipe producers report that customers prefer to wait for further developments in the market and are not making any large purchases. Market players think that Bulgarian mills may attempt to raise their quotations with the holidays now over in order to recoup expected higher production costs, but that they will experience difficulties considering the low buying activity in the market.
Current offers of locally produced welded pipes and hollow sections of 2-5 mm wall thickness made from S235JR grade hot rolled coil (HRC) according to EN 10219 are being given to the Bulgarian domestic market at around BGN 930-950/mt ($517-528/mt) ex-works, exclusive of 20 percent VAT and on theoretical weight basis.
Export quotations of Bulgarian ERW pipes and hollow sections of 2-5 mm wall thickness made from S235JR grade HRC as per EN 10219 are at levels of €460-485/mt ($501-529/mt) ex-works on theoretical weight basis. Export quotations of Bulgarian water and gas pipes according to EN 10255 are at €480-520/mt ($523-567/mt) ex-works.
