According to market sources, demand for Chinese welded pipes in the export markets is still weak. Although Chinese welded pipe producers face downward pressure on their export prices due to weak demand and due to the decreases in prices in the Chinese domestic market, they are unwilling to reduce their quotations. Accordingly, Chinese offers to the export markets for 0.5"-12" grade B water and gas welded pipes as per ASTM A53 or API 5L have remained stable over the past week at $370-380/mt FOB on theoretical weight basis.
