The Bulgarian welded pipe market has not witnessed any substantial changes in prices in the last two weeks. Demand from domestic and foreign buyers has weakened further due to the summer holiday season. Meanwhile, most Bulgarian producers have preferred to leave both domestic and export prices of welded pipes unchanged from the levels of two weeks ago, as they are booked with orders for August. Over the past two weeks, export quotations for Bulgarian welded pipes have stayed mostly stable, while domestic prices have moved down by a maximum of BGN 20/mt ($8/mt). With the current poor demand and the summer slowdown, it appears that activity in the Bulgarian welded pipe market will remain stagnant in August.
Current offers of locally produced welded pipes and hollow sections of 2-5 mm wall thickness made from S235JR grade hot rolled coil (HRC) according to EN 10219 are being given to the Bulgarian domestic market at around BGN 920-930/mt ($520-525/mt) ex-works, exclusive of 20 percent VAT and on actual weight basis.
Export quotations of Bulgarian ERW pipes and hollow sections of 2-5 mm wall thickness made from S235JR grade HRC as per EN 10219 are at levels of €430-450/mt ($473-495/mt) FCA on theoretical weight basis or at €460-470/mt ($506-517/mt) FCA on actual weight basis. Export quotations of Bulgarian water and gas pipes according to EN 10255 are at €460-480/mt ($506-528/mt) FCA.
