The Bulgarian market for welded pipes is quiet due to the summer holidays, with business at minimal levels. Domestic quotations of Bulgarian welded pipes have remained unchanged over the past two weeks due to extremely low buying activity from local consumers. At the same time, Bulgarian welded pipes for August production are being offered to export markets at €30-40/mt ($40-54/mt) cheaper than for July production. However, demand from neighboring EU countries is weakening amid a seasonal lull and traders delay new purchases amid poor interest from consuming industries. However, welded

Bulgaria hope to keep their prices at current levels in the coming period, with a positive correction expected towards the end of the summer, when buying activity is expected to revive.
Current offers of locally produced welded pipes and hollow sections of 2-5 mm wall thickness made from S235JR grade hot rolled coil (HRC) according to EN 10219 are being given to the Bulgarian domestic market at around BGN 980-1,000/mt ($671-685/mt) ex-works, exclusive of 20 percent VAT and on theoretical weight basis.
Export quotations of Bulgarian ERW pipes and hollow sections of 2-5 mm wall thickness made from S235JR grade HRC as per EN 10219 are at levels of €460-500/mt ($616-670/mt) ex-works on theoretical weight basis for August production. In particular, export offers of Bulgarian pipes to Germany are at levels of €460-475/mt ($616-637/mt) ex-works, while offers to Poland are at €480-500/mt ($643-670/mt) ex-works. Export quotations of Bulgarian water and gas pipes according to EN 10255 are at €480-520/mt ($643-697/mt) ex-works.
