Business activity has remained sluggish in the Spanish seamless pipe market over the past month amid the unfavorable political and economic situation in the country. As a result, most foreign suppliers have had to back down on prices, while quotations of Spanish seamless pipes have remained unchanged over the period under review. Prices offered from China have decreased by €10/mt ($14/mt) over the past month, while import offers of Ukrainian seamless pipes have declined by around €20-30/mt ($28-41/mt). At the same time, quotations of Italian material have remained at previous levels. Most market players believe seamless pipe prices in Spain may continue to move down amid slack demand both at home and abroad. Reduced seamless pipe consumption in the country against the backdrop of the ongoing crisis will affect end-users’ interest in concluding purchases in the coming period.
